Families come to LightHouse for all kinds of reasons. Some students are doing well academically but want something more meaningful. Others are anxious, disengaged, missing school, or simply unhappy in their current environment.
Most families start with a conversation and a visit. You don’t need to know yet whether LightHouse will be right for you.
Most families begin with a conversation and a visit to campus. From there, a typical admission process includes one or two shadow days so the student can experience LightHouse firsthand.
We enroll students throughout the year whenever space is available.
LightHouse accepts both private enrollment and students placed through public school partnerships, including Holyoke Public Schools’ Opportunity Academy.
Admission to LightHouse is about fit. We want to understand a young person's strengths, interests, and challenges, and what has and has not been working. Our goal is to be realistic about whether our environment is likely to support them well.
We do not make admission decisions based on previous grades, test scores, or engagement. We know that past behavior in one setting is not predictive of future behavior under entirely new conditions. We know that everyone wants to succeed.
Many students come to LightHouse after struggling in a traditional school setting, and we are much more interested in understanding the whole student and what might help them re-engage than in judging what came before.

Full tuition for 2026-2027 is $18,500, with significant need-based fee-reduction available at various levels. Tuition is prorated by for enrollment during the school year.
LightHouse partners with Holyoke Public Schools and many other local districts to serve students who are not thriving in a traditional setting. With approval, tuition is paid by the sending district.
