LightHouse offers a very different way to learn.
Since opening in 2015 we have been disrupting traditional power structures in real time, transforming the traditionally hierarchical relationship between young people and adults to one of collaboration, founded on voluntary, shared agreements and inspired by student curiosity and leadership.
LightHouse students are supported to grow into compassionate, confident learners who can speak their truth and listen deeply to others. They practice critical thinking, collaboration, and courage—the human skills that matter not only in school, but in life.
For families concerned about the messages their children may be getting- or not getting- in our current political climate, LightHouse offers a different path: one where learning is grounded in justice, belonging, and the belief that every student deserves to be seen and celebrated.
Every young person deserves a place where they can thrive
as themselves and develop the skills and confidence
to take their next steps.
