We have been super busy meeting with people all over! A highlight of some meetings just this week:
- Connected with Eileen and Megan at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holyoke. Very exciting to learn about the awesome programs they offer and talk about ways we might work together. We are looking to be located in the Race St. area, so they would be our neighbors, too!
- We visited the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC) on Bigelow Street. What a beautiful building! We learned that they are happy to host meetings and events for nonprofit and community organizations, and they have a really nice meeting room (with big screen TVs) that we will certainly take advantage of at some point. They host a bunch of neat stuff right now, including Holyoke Codes, which we are connecting with as well.
- After the MGHPCC, we jumped a block over to Open Square and met with Priscilla and Celine at Enchanted Circle Theater. Very cool theater arts education programs happening there, and we loved talking with them about possible internships and other shared opportunities with LightHouse in the future.
- Went to Springfield to check out Tech Foundry, a really cool tech program that is training teens in tech areas that are in great demand. They are doing neat work with teenagers, and they also have a beautifully designed space that we wanted to see as we are thinking about what the LightHouse space will look like.
We’ve now visited and met with over seventy people and organizations in the Holyoke area, and we keep getting more intrigued by all the opportunity and interest in working together. So many fun possibilities to think about!
