This is a double block course and students are required to register for both sessions.
Anatomy Lab is the hands-on companion to Anatomy, designed to deepen students’ understanding of human body systems through tactile and visual learning. This supplemental class provides additional time to reinforce concepts from the main course, supporting comprehension of complex material through focused lab work, discussion, and practice.
Students will engage in anatomical modeling, diagramming, lab technique exercises, an some dissection activities. Lab experiences may include blood typing, microscope analysis of tissue samples, skeletal identification, and more.
Throughout the course, students will strengthen their grasp of form and function in key systems such as the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, digestive, and musculoskeletal systems. Emphasis will be placed on applied learning, scientific reasoning, and personal health awareness, making this course valuable both for future healthcare professionals and for students interested in understanding the human body in greater depth.
Students will work toward key attainments such as:
Identifying the anatomical structures and functions of key body systems.
Applying scientific vocabulary and reasoning to real-world anatomy.
Engaging in safe, respectful, and collaborative lab practices.
Recognizing how health knowledge supports self-care and wellness.
This course is designed to be taken alongside Anatomy for a comprehensive experience.
